 GUIDED TOURS

 

Guided tours are now available! We invite you to tour the Conservatory with a knowledgeable, trained Garfield Park Conservatory Guide who will shower you with plant knowledge, historical facts and insight into our unique collection of plants and trees.

 

Free Introductory Tours: Every Sunday at 2pm, our guides lead free tours of Garfield Park Conservatory. Registration is first come, first serve starting at 1pm the day of the tour. A sign-up sheet will be located at the front desk for in-person sign-ups; we are unable to accept advance registraht tion for these tours. The tour includes a 45-minute walk around the campus.

 

Themed Conservatory Tours: Our guided themed tours focus on Plants and History, Tropical Treats, Behind-the-Scenes and more topics to come. Each of these private tours are scheduled upon request. Tours cost $12 per person; we can schedule as many people as you’d like however we have a minimum of $144 per tour (which is the cost of twelve people on a tour). To schedule a tour, please fill out our group field trip online registration form and be sure to check the box for "Themed Group Tours" under "Resources for your Visit." Members Only Themed Tours: Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance members receive one free themed Conservatory tour per year with their current membership card. For those Family Membership holders, feel free to use any of your 5 guest passes to bring your friends and family who are not GPCA members on a tour with you - just register for all guests and yourself beforehand! These members-only tours will be offered every other month, rotating between themes of Conservatory History and Plants, Tropical Treats, Behind-the-Scenes, and more to come! *Due to room closings, the March 19th tour theme was changed from a Conservatory History and Plants Tour to a Tropical Treat Tour; the July and September tour themes are “to be determined” for similar reasons. Please call in advance to check on tour themes for the date you are interested in. If you have already signed up for a date and we change the theme, you will be notified with ample time to allow you to switch tour dates if desired.

  

 SELF GUIDED TOURS

 

Tour the Garfield Park Conservatory at your leisure with the help of informative signs in many of the Conservatory gardens. There is no fee to explore the Conservatory.  If you are bringing children, visit our Kids & Family Fun pages for the “Eye Spy” plant scavenger hunt and other suggestions.

 DONOR TOURS

 

Current Director’s Club, Jensen Club and Corporate Donors of $500 or more may schedule one complimentary guided group tour of the Conservatory for up to 25 guests, or a “Behind the Scenes” tour for four individuals, for an exclusive look into
the inner workings of the Conservatory plant growing areas. By appointment only, subject to availability.
